How to Process Clink Gear Training
Competencies demonstrated: Technology Literacy, Instructional Design, Performance Improvement, Graphic Design
Context: Previous performance and training needs analyses revealed performance gaps among sales staff in the utilization of a proprietary inventory and point-of-sale software used to record and report purchases of musical instruments and related gear. A design plan was created with SME and stakeholder input to provide a blueprint for the development of this training as a recommended intervention.
Action: Utilized Adobe Captivate and Audacity to design and develop a blended training course based on instructional design industry standards to address employee performance gaps that includes a computer-based, interactive training video with software demonstrations, job aids, and a detailed lesson plan/facilitator/instructor guide.
Results: A first in the organization’s 27-year history, stakeholders now have the tools to create consistency across the sales team in the area of processing clink gear, which will reduce confusion and frustration among the staff and customers, and eliminate missteps that affect the business’s legal standing.
